Samba Schools Parade, Carnival, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil - baianas ( black old women ) dancing and spinning - Ala da baianas, an important section of a Rio de Janeiro samba school, composed, preferably, by ladies dressed in clothes that refer to old aunts of the first groups of Bahia samba of the early twentieth century, in Rio de Janeiro. It was introduced in the parade even in the 30´s of last centry as a tribute to the "aunts" of samba, which Sambistas refuge in their homes at the time when the pace was sidelined.
