Dipteryx odorata, a species of flowering tree commonly known as cumaru in Brazil - its seeds are known as tonka beans ( fava-de-cumaru ) and have a strong fragrance similar to sweet woodruff due to their high content of coumarin, substance with various medicinal uses and also used in perfumery as a vanilla substitute to flavor tobacco and snuff and for oil extraction - Caatinga ecosystem, Ceara State, northeastern Brazil.
