The Yellow-fronted Woodpecker ( Melanerpes flavifrons ) is a species of bird in the Picidae family. Rio de Janeiro Botanic Garden, Brazil. Portuguese names: benedito-de-testa-amarela or pica-pau-de-testa-amarela. It is found in Argentina, Brazil, and Paraguay. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests and heavily degraded former forest.
