Brazil has the world's largest Catholic population and Catholicism is still the country's predominant faith. According to the 2010 Demographic Census, 64,6% of the population followed Roman Catholicism. However, in the last years Protestantism, particularly Pentecostal and/or Evangelical Protestantism, has spread in Brazil, while the proportion of Catholics has dropped significantly.
