Gold just extracted using a hydraulic gold mining process known as “chupadeira system”. After using mercury to amalgamate with the metal in a sluice box, the gold collected is purified by manipulating the bateia ( a shallow, cone-shaped zinc pan ) with smooth circular motion to gradually concentrate the gold at the botton of the pan.
